As a toxicology expert witness and consultant, Dr. Milman has provided his expertise in cases involving toxic effects of chemicals (such as lead, benzene, and sewer gas) and drugs (including Levaquin, lithium, and morphine) in cases dealing with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF), rhabdomyolysis, and Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), among others.
As a cancer expert witness and consultant, Dr. Milman has a particular interest in cancer causation (also known as chemical carcinogenesis). This includes cancer caused by exposure to chemicals (including benzene, trichloroethylene, and formaldehyde) found in the home, workplace, or the environment.
As a pharmacology expert witness and consultant, Dr. Milman has provided litigation support regarding mechanisms of drug action as they relate to drug therapy, dose-response, drug-to-drug interactions, and pharmacokinetics including absorption, distribution, and elimination of drugs from the body.
Dr. Milman has also provided support in cases involving standards of care for pharmacies as a pharmacy expert witness and consultant. These standards encompass dispensing errors, drug overdoses, drug allergies and drug sensitivities, errors in pharmacy prescription communication, drug-to-drug interactions, and labeling, warnings, and precautions.
